Bank Holiday Health Advice at Your Fingertips

Health advice is just a few clicks away if you need medical help this Bank Holiday Monday, 29 August, by calling NHS 111 or visiting NHS 111 online - www.111.nhs.uk.

GP practices in Stockport are closed that day, so if you have a medical need call NHS 111 and you will be directed to the most appropriate service to use. It’s free to call and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. NHS 111 online can also help if you have a medical problem and you don’t know what to do. The NHS Health A-Z guide may also provide the answers you are looking for at www.nhs.uk/conditions.

If your condition is serious or a life-threatening emergency, call 999 immediately or go to your nearest emergency department.

It's always useful to have a basic self-care kit at home to manage the symptoms of minor health conditions. This can include painkillers, plasters, anti-diarrhoea tablets and anti-histamines, all of which can be bought from your local supermarket or pharmacy.
