Awareness Days and Campaigns for October
We have created a page dedicated to campaigns and awareness days for the whole of October - thanks to our office volunteer Pat!
Could you provide a warm and welcome space this winter?
Message from Sam Fielding (Stockport Council)
We need your help to provide warm spaces – and a warm welcome – to our residents this winter.
As part of our upcoming One Stockport winter campaign, we are looking to create an interactive map of all the warm spaces available for people to attend for free between November 2021 and March 2023.
To draw people in, ideally these spaces will offer free warm drinks and/or focus on an activity or event.
Grants available
Financial grants of up to £1,000 will be available for some organisations (Groups, Faith Organisations, CICs, CIOs, Limited Companies and Trusts can apply) to make sure warm spaces can be set up, provide refreshments/activities, or be sustained for longer periods of time.
There will also be opportunity to apply for an energy saving grant.
More information about applying for grants will be available next week.
Add your warm space/event to our map
Don’t need a grant? Please fill out this form with information about your warm space/event to add it to the map.
Thank you for any support you can give – we feel very lucky to have such amazing partners by our side!
If you have any other questions, please email Imogen Fox.

The booking process for these reserved seats will follow

All the films will be the biggest releases at that time. Film release schedules can change, but will be confirmed when the box office opens. However, as things stand, the intention is to show the following films:

PrEP awareness
Message from Bethany Applebee (BHA for equality in health and social care)
The PaSH partnership (BHA for Equality, LGBT Foundation and George House Trust) are launching a social media campaign to encourage the uptake of PrEP (a drug that can be taken to prevent HIV transmission) and I’d like to invite Healthwatch to join the campaign.
As a Fast Track City, Greater Manchester’s ambition is to end all new transmissions of HIV by 2030, therefore we are inviting organisations in Stockport to share the messaging around PrEP to reach as many residents as possible and motivate Greater Manchester residents to take charge of their sexual health and plan a safer, more enjoyable sex life.
For more information see the PrEP brief

Apprenticeships at Pennine Care
Message from Rachel Rowland (Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust)
We currently have an open advert for our Trainee Health Care Support Worker Apprenticeships, these are open to anyone over the age of 18, you don’t need to have any previous care experience as full training is provided
We will also be advertising for our Trainee Nursing Associates late October/Early November, this is for those who already have some experience as it is a level 5 programme. Due to how popular the programme is we run readiness sessions where people can find out more and get tips on how to do a good application as well as some interview advice. The readiness session is running on various dates in the middle of October, I have attached the flyer.
