The Stockport Age Friendly Partnership is seeking a Co-Chair with lived experience to help shape a brighter future for people of all ages in our borough.

The Stockport Age Friendly Partnership brings together individuals and partners from the community, voluntary, and statutory sectors. We’re a vital part of the wider One Stockport Borough Plan, aligned with its vision of One Heart, One Home, One Future.
Our mission is to ensure everyone in Stockport can:
- Age well, with respect and purpose.
- Enjoy connections with family, friends, and the community.
- Stay well and active for as long as possible.
The Role: Co-Chair the Age Friendly Partnership
As Co-Chair, you will work alongside the current Chair to:
- Contribute to developing and delivering plans to support ageing well for all.
- Ensure local voices are heard, across all ages and communities.
Ageing well priorities will be shaped through continual engagement with Stockport residents and may include:
- Housing, outdoor spaces, and transport.
- Employment, social participation, and inclusion.
- Community and health and care services.
With Stockport having the oldest population among Greater Manchester boroughs, this role is vital to addressing health inequalities and ensuring a healthy, vibrant future for all.
What We’re Looking For
We want someone with:
- A strong connection to the local community.
- A desire to make Stockport a place where people can age with dignity, respect, and purpose.
- The ability to use their lived experience to help build stronger, more inclusive communities.
What We Offer
This is a paid role (through your choice of bank transfer or voucher payments) under Stockport Council’s Working Together Policy. £15 per hour. You will receive payment through their bureau system.
