Men's Health Services
Dad Matters
Dad Matters aim to help dads have successful relationships with their families, and to support dads with anxiety, stress and mental health issues.
They hope to get dads engaged with services that have traditionally been targeted at mums, and to train & support volunteer dads to work with us.
Dad Matters want to make sure dads know how important they are, how to access support when they need it and why it’s essential for baby’s development.
If you'd like support you can contact Dad Matters by calling 0161 334 0669 or join their online antenatal groups. This is available to dads to be and new dads with babies under 12 weeks old.

Men’s Sheds Association
Men’s Sheds (or Sheds) are similar to garden sheds – a place to pursue practical interests at leisure, to practice skills and enjoy making and mending. The difference is that garden sheds and activities are often solitary while Men’s Sheds are about friendship building, sharing skills and knowledge. They're community spaces for men to connect, converse, create and help reduce loneliness.
Sheds are whatever members (or Shedders) want them to be. Many don’t have premises in the beginning and instead form a group that meets regularly for the social connection, company and camaraderie until they can find somewhere to kit out with tools. Many Sheds get involved in community projects too – restoring village features, helping maintain parks and green spaces, and building things for schools, libraries and individuals in need.
Activities in Sheds vary, but you can usually find woodworking, metalworking, repairing and restoring, electronics, model buildings or even car building.
There are three Sheds in the Stockport area;

Andy's Man Club
Andy's Man club originally started in Halifiax in memory of Andy, a 23 year old guy who took his life. Now there are Andy's Man clubs across the UK to encourage men to open up, chat and help each other through tough times.
You don’t have to have diagnosed with a mental health condition or feel like Andy did.... you may just of had a rough weekend or feel lonely. There’s also no pressure to talk, simply go along and listen.
They come together at 7pm every Monday. For details of where to meet (online only at moment) or their online club email info@andysmanclub.co.uk or follow them on Facebook.
